The height of safety
Wangaratta Livestock Exchange is a working stockyard and cattle sale facility operating seven days a week. They required an upgrade to a 545m auctioneer’s walkway to achieve full compliance with the Australian Standards. Anchor Safe has been working with Wangaratta Livestock Exchange since October 2010 and in that time have developed an in-depth understanding of the unique needs of their site.
Delivering results from top to bottom
We proposed a three-stage solution so the exchange could continue operating without interruption while the upgrade took place. Our new high span walkway was constructed along the same alignment as the existing walkway, attaching to the existing overhead bearers for support.
We used:
- 545m of elevated walkway system, including extended posts and double kick rail
- 4 x stairways 2300mm high x 600mm wide with 900mm landing including guardrail both sides
The project was completed to achieve a certificate of compliance to AS1657-2013. We worked closely with the local council and building surveyors, discussing the specifications at every step of the way to provide total peace of mind and ease.
