Free-standing elevated platform for ease of access Stafford City Shopping Centre

The height of safety

Anchor Safe recently partnered with a leading national facility management organization to enhance height safety across their extensive QLD retail property portfolio. This client manages 21 shopping centres across Australia, encompassing a total of 488,257 square meters of gross lettable area and attracting 83 million customers annually.

Understanding the critical need for safe access to cooling towers—especially when components are located at challenging heights—we leveraged our comprehensive design capabilities and proven industry expertise. Our detailed design documentation and tailored recommendations provided the client with the assurance to proceed with Anchor Safe for the design, supply, and installation of a specialized access system.

Delivering Results from Top to Bottom

In close collaboration with both the client and building owners, we designed a platform and ladder system specifically suited to the unique inspection and cleaning requirements of this shopping centre. The system includes a free-standing elevated platform with an integrated guardrail, a self-closing gate, and an angled step ladder for ease of access. Constructed from modular, industrial-grade lightweight aluminium components, the solution was not only robust but also allowed for a streamlined and efficient installation.

By opting for an angled step ladder, we eliminated the need for a more cumbersome vertical ladder, which typically requires a static line and harness system. This approach ensures that maintenance workers can access the platform safely and with greater ease, using a fixed angled step ladder and surrounding guardrail for maximum protection.

Our cooling tower access systems are designed to provide secure and reliable access, optimising maintenance efficiency and ensuring top-tier fall prevention. It’s essential to tailor access systems to the specific requirements of your site, ensuring they align seamlessly with your maintenance routines.
