Melbourne Racing Club is a world class horse racing and entertainment company with 3 venues across Melbourne. MRC chose to partner with Anchor Safe as their trusted Height Safety provider based on our tailored solution design, quality care and our ability to accommodate their long-term safety goals.
Our client wanted professional direction as to the best solution for contractors & TV Crew to safely access the roof at their Sandown Raceway Site. Their aim was to avoid the need to set up temporary safety measures every time access was required.
The sites existing access system were non-compliant to Australian standards and the temporary measures that were in place made it difficult for contractors to effectively service the plant & equipment.
Delivering results from top to bottom
The Anchor Safe team designed, supplied & installed a tailored height safety solution that ensured contractors could safely and efficiently access the roof with their required material & equipment. One major height safety issue was resolved with a KOMBI platform system allowing for safe and easy access to all areas of the roof.
Our installation team installed a Kombi Platform system that spanned approximately 220 meters across the roof, eliminating the need for parapet ladders. At each bay of the roof our team installed KATT step ladders to allow safe access down from the platform to the plant & equipment on the roof. A total of 32 step ladders were installed along the platform.
To ensure contractors had a clear path of access to the plant & equipment, we installed a total of 816 meters of walkway.

Our client has real time access to online asset registers and receives timely reminders for re-certification and maintenance. We also provided peace-of-mind with a ten-year warranty on all systems installed.
