The height of safety
Anchor Safe has installed safe roof access systems in 83 schools in the Riverina and Illawarra regions of New South Wales, as part of the largest investment in public education infrastructure in the State’s history. Thrilled to be playing our part in providing NSW children with a safe learning environment, Anchor Safe worked closely with the main contractors, delivering the project in these regions, to tailor roof access solutions for each school.
Delivering results from top to bottom
The NSW Government is investing $6.7 billion over a four-year period to deliver 190 new and upgraded schools in communities across the state. In addition, a record $1.3 billion is being spent on school maintenance over five years, along with $500 million for the Cooler Classrooms program to provide air conditioning to schools.
Inspired by the opportunity to make a tangible difference to so many schools within the Riverina and Illawarra regions, Anchor Safe rose to the challenge of managing such a large number of projects across multiple locations.
The roof access systems we designed and installed catered for the unique access requirements of each school based on the size and style of the school buildings, roof structure and location, all within the project budget. One of the schools we we designed and delivered a height safety system for was the Narrandera Public School, an hour west of Wagga Wagga. This project included the supply and install of 23 Frog Link Anchor Points, ladder support brackets and strops and a custom-made step-up system, allowing safe access from one level to another. AnchorSafe choose to use the Frog Link Anchor Point due to its dynamic design which reduces the load back onto the structure and the person attached to the anchor, as well as its low-profile reflective design which helped maintain the aesthetically pleasing façade of the school buildings.
Anchor Safe’s work has paved the way for the ongoing maintenance of the schools’ roofs to be carried out safely, efficiently and cost-effectively.
